Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Have the ability to handle all job responsibilities listed above
  • Agriculture experience required
  • Have the ability to lead and motivate a team with a positive attitude
  • Have the ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors
  • Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least 25lbs continuously throughout the day

  • Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least 25lbs continuously throughout the day
  • Should be comfortable working around moving machinery and working in a farm environment with very dusty conditions

Responsibilities

  • This position will assist in supervising and ensuring the safe completion of daily work of all members in the barns
  • It is the responsibility of the team lead do ensure the health and welfare of the hens
  • All tasked need to be overseen and completed by all employees
  • The team lead will ensure all tasks have been completed before the end of the shift
  • This is a position working in the houses with live animals
  • Follow biosecurity practices on all company sites
  • Pass on information from upper management to employees and vice versa
  • Train new and existing employees
  • Watch over assigned chicken houses (includes production, feed, water, pits, mortality and managing housework)
  • Monitor employees on team to ensure they follow procedure, complete assigned work, and comply with policies
  • Review schedule regularly and determine if duties are being met
  • Review pest management, potential disease issues
  • Problem solve with supervisor on potential solutions for proper staffing needs
  • Other duties as assigned by management
