Qualifications

  • Act 24 Arrest and Conviction Report
  • Act 34 Pennsylvania Criminal History Clearance
  • Act 151 Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 114 Federal Criminal History Clearance
  • Individuals must possess these skills, knowledge and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities
  • Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or other employees
  • Ability to orally communicate well (appropriate grammar, pleasant voice, affable manner) in English using the telephone and in all personal contacts with staff and the general public
  • Ability to present ideas logically in writing to include good proofreading, spelling and written grammar skills
  • Ability to present oneself in a business-like manner to include personal appearance and a pleasant demeanor to others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications or related programs
  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform with efficiency and a high level of accuracy in all office procedures
  • Ability to act in a confidential manner regarding the program, (student and staff records/information)
  • Education: High School/GED diploma required
  • Experience: Skilled in computer applications

Responsibilities

  • The Executive Secretary to the Principal/Director of Correctional facilities shall be directly responsible to the Principal/Director of Correctional Facilities for supervision and evaluation
  • Provide Administrative duties to the Principal/Director of Correctional Facilities
  • Be responsible for intake procedures for new students entering the school program
  • Be responsible for handling interactions with school staff and institutional staff
  • Perform tasks in all facets of office practices
  • Be responsible for maintaining staff training and attendance information
  • Be responsible to order materials, inventory and store new materials
  • Be responsible for maintaining student records and disseminating record information
  • Perform all other job related tasks as assigned by the Principal/Director of Correctional Facilities
  • Employees will be required to follow any other job related instructions and to perform any other job related duties required by their supervisor
